Enlighting your day.

Good morning to ya,
Today is going to be a bright new day.

Today, I want to share a special someth'n with you.

Let me build a background for you.
Year 2000,
I married the man of my dreams.
After my honeymoon,
we came back to our home town, &
we loaded the U-hual, from my front porch.
As we drove down my drive way,
I saw standing on the porch hugging and crying,
my parents and sister, and our dog Jed.
As I wiped my tears,
I remember that this would be
my journey, this would be the life
I would be living on my own with out them close.
My parents, helped mold me,
but I would begin my new life at that moment,
when I truly would establish my new family.

They always say that,
the first year of marriage is always the toughest.
Well, it was sort of,
that year, we held each other tight.
You see my parents,
after 28 years of marriage,
went different ways.
This built a strong bond between my new husband and I.
He was there for me, and always is.

The drastic change in my parent's lives, did not change me,
nor did it hinder my new life with Steven.
It enhanced me, and I accepted the change.
While I have wonderful memories of my close family of four,
I would not let go of  ANY bonds.
Today, I am completely blessed with effects
of that new direction that took place that first year of my marriage.

You see, my father has blessed us with
new family members that we love so much.
I would never want this to change.
He is happy, and we are happy.

My mother has done the same.
She has given new family members to us as well.
Again, I would not want that to change.
We are grateful, that we are blessed with so much love.
Now we are getting closer to the point of my post.

Let me do one more rewind...
a few years before Steven and I were married,
 we were dating, but apart.
I think that I was home while he was at Auburn or something.
But, anyway I remember hearing of a terrible car accident.
Unfortunately, there were fatalities.
This was about 15 years ago,
this accident happened on my route to where,
I took some courses at a Junior College.
That stuck out in  my mind, along with the fact,
in that accident,
three wonderful, beautiful children
were taken to heaven
to meet Jesus.
I do not know of anyone in our county
that didn't hurt for the family of these angels.

This past Saturday,
Aubrey received a letter in the mail from Aunt Toni.
She is one of those special blessing that Mom added to our family.
Aunt Toni,
is the mother of the three precious children in heaven.
Even though we did not have her or
those angels in our lives at that time,
we knew of her.

The letter was a message from heaven, or so we feel.
Taylor, age 8 had two dollar bills in his wallet
 when he left this earth.
Not much, but it now means more than you will ever know.

Aunt Toni explained she had left this money in his wallet,
not quite sure what to do with it, so it sat there for 15 years.

After watching Aubrey work so hard
to raise money for the children with GAN,
Aunt Toni, felt the need
to send those two dollars to Hannah's Hope Fund,
and that Taylor can put in a special request to God,
to help this money multiply,
to help these children and families with GAN.

I think that this is amazing.
I love how we receive miracles from heaven.
I love how God, can use someone.

I hope you can see,
the chain of events in my personal life,
that lead us to this awesome miracle.
If the path of my family life had not changed the way it did,
Aubrey would not have had an Aunt Toni in her life.
We believe that God helps things move along
 through our journey in life,
for the good, no matter what.

Aunt Toni, we love you and thank you.
The entire family of GAN, thanks you.
As, I see it, I think that Mrs. Fern's sweet Doug,
is in heaven giving Taylor a huge high five!
Here is the letter Aunt Toni sent Aubrey.
There is only one path to Heaven.
On Earth, we call it Love.

Back in gear!

Today was the first day of Third Grade.
It was also the first day of Pre-K for Jamie.

We are ready for a new year!

Oh, baby we are really proud of you.
We hope you have great first day.

Remember:
"You is Kind.
You is Smart.
You is Important."
-Aibileen Clark

My goodness at how you have grown sweet girl.
It makes me think about that song,
Barbie Bandaids
by Sonya Isaacs

Playdough rainbows and paper wings,
I remember all of your favorite things.
Like tea time with pooh bear, and Charlie Brown,
Barbie bandaids and princess gowns,
And here I am trying to hold the hands of time,
They're movin' so fast that I'm fallin' behind.

And I know, that you're ready to take a step,
But I'm not ready for that yet,
All I see is my little girl in tears and curls,
Watching you grow before my eyes,
Letting you go one Barbie bandaid at a time.

Bedtime stories of little bo peep,
Saying prayers for the little lost sheep,
Mama's lipstick and skinned up knees.
Secret crushes and diaries.
Your first date and your first goodnight kiss,
And I can't believe we're already to this.

And I know, that you're ready to take a step,
But I'm not ready for that yet.
All I see is my little girl in heels and pearls,
Watching you grown before my eyes,
Letting you go one Barbie bandaid at a time.

Something borrowed, something blue.
Oh but couldn't we have just a minute or two.
An hour or two, a year or two.

Oh, I know, that you're ready, it's really time,
To watch you spread your wings and fly,
Heaven knows I'm so proud of you,
But it hurts me too,
Seeing you grown before my eyes,
Letting you go one Barbie bandaid...... at a time.

Sweet heart, I am cherishing this time.
Mrs. Baker, we hope you had a great first day too!
Aubrey really appreciated the "Jitter Juice" you provided.
Jamie has an exciting day planned with his buddies.
Today he moved up in the big class, the last room on the hall.
It is hard to believe that he has grown so fast.
Miss Erica, it is going to be an interesting day!
Have fun!

Steven and I continued our yearly tradition,
Breakfast on the First Day of School.
Elmo's it was!

"Elmosas" for our first day celebration!
Steven enjoyed his Greek Omelet.
My Huevos Rancheros, was great!
This was a perfect date.
While this date was relaxing, we now have some work to do at home.
Before we know it Aubrey will be stepping off the bus.
We will head back to Chapel Hill to get Jamie, and sashay off to ballet with Aubrey.
Our routine begans again today.
But, we will not forget what comes first.

Everyone had exciting day.
We all made it home safe and sound.
Tomorrow, Day 2.

Enjoying the afternoon

This afternoon we decided to come out of the house,
to get a little fresh air.
Jamie had been begging all day to ride his bike.
Aubrey wanted try her skates again, which we were willing.
 She definitely needs the practice.
She is much more braver then I would have been.
But, she had her life savor right with her.
 This nut made me dizzy.
He never stops.

She tried the Conga, way for a bit, but before long she was scooting along.

 She bobbled a long.
 She crashed and burned.
 She prayed for strength.
 Up and at it again.
 Chasing Dad was fun.
Whoopsy...should I have made a video for AFV?

Pretty successful outing.

Making her way back home...are you wondering where Jamie is?
You got it...he is waiting on us at the stop sign.

Great Scott, I think she's got it!

 Great Job.

While we were cooking dinner, they got out the guns again.

Dad, made a target on the glass for them to shoot at.
 Not to bad...

After dinner, we got ready for the first day of school.
Hair rolled, and nails painted.
I think she is excited to see her friends.

I don't know how she sleeps in these.

Jamie is ready to go back to school too.
He is looking forward to moving up,
and taking phonics this year.

Aubrey has her bag packed...with all the neat school supplies.
I really like her bag this year...check out the mouse her Daddy had put on it especially for her.

Shoes and dress waiting for an excited third grader.
She asked the 8 Ball if tomorrow will be a great day,
and it's reply...
As far as her new treasure, she has it tucked in nicely in its on bed.
