You don't have to clean the toilet...

... for these kind of friends. This was our conclusion after realizing that the downstairs bathroom wasn't spic 'n span when we had our neighborhood friends over last night. A topic that came up last night from TJ was what a great community we're living in. Beyond just being neighbors, there is a group of us that definitely look out for one another, and we have similar goals and motives. We've all got kids the same age (except Greg and Cindy, whose kids are in college), we're all struggling middle-class, and we're working to improve our homes. When all that's done, we even get to have a little fun together.

So last night we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, and kind of had a pot-luck with everyone bringing over this or that. We keep things simple. Of course, we forgot to get hamburgers for our "hamburger grill out" and Christy had to run get some. Then everyone gave us a hard time because they had hamburgers and of course we shouldn't have run out.

Jamie slept the whole time, so it almost felt like before we had kids. Aubrey was missed, and Kylie and Diana had their way with her play room. I wonder if Aubrey will be able to figure out that her friends played with her stuff while she was gone :)
